What I Learned About Misalignment So You Don’t Have To

misalignmentThis week wasn’t what I planned. I was in a collision.

All involved are okay. I’m tremendously grateful for that.

The incident has me thinking.

Some people might say an “accident” is an event that happens by chance. Maybe I was in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Misalignment or Chance?

I say no. Nothing happens by chance. Maybe you’ve heard me say before, “Accidents often happen when you are in ‘misalignment’”. What does that mean exactly?

We all have areas of our lives that need to work together, to move in the right way. Think of a river where a strong current goes in one direction. Unless you are a salmon, during salmon run, you generally go with the water’s currents. Sometimes, we need to swim upstream, but in most cases, our inner energy is meant to follow a path.

Misalignment and Lack of Clarity

In order to be aligned, we need to be conscious of what that alignment is for us. So, clarity is important.

When I stopped and remembered that accidents, incidents, collisions, and such are a signal, I had to ask myself, “What am I not paying attention to?”

Yep. My alignment. The placement of all the important things in my life and the energy that goes into them.

The Role of Balance

Something I’m reminded of is that getting our lives in balance sometimes takes immense actions. It sometimes takes making a shift in how we deal with money. People often look to making more money as the root to happiness and improvement in their lives. In some cases, you absolutely have to be attracting money to you. For some, this means breaking down money blocks.

Something I need to caution you on however; although thinking of a thought that is important is good, hanging on, getting too caught up in what it’s going to be like when you have—that huge bank account, or new partner, or bigger house or ideal body.

If you really want to manifest anything, you can if you take the right actions. The money will show up in your bank account, he will show up on your doorstep, you will feel that new house key in your hand. You will feel the new clothes you’ve been eyeing against your skin.

You really can. It’s all within you.

Here’s what I ask you take in account though. To sustain anything for the long-term, you need to make happiness the product of more than what will come in the future.

To only look ahead, you’re missing out on the happy you have now.

I see a lot of people making their fulfillment and gratitude as something to strive toward. I think we should all strive because there is always room for improvement. However, if all our eggs are in our future basket, that leads us to believe that our current basket is empty— when it’s really not.

No matter how blue we get. No matter how we want to pull our hair out at times, there are things to be grateful for and yes, to find happiness in now.

How to Overcome Misalignment

Look closely at what you have in this moment. Take a magnifying glass to it if you need to.

Why does this matter to you?

The secret in being happy in the future is finding gratitude in your now.

How do you do this?

Magnify your little piece of happy. Hold it in your heart, and be genuinely grateful for it.

Now that it’s blown up, see it in your mind. Remember that to build something taller, you first need a foundation. Think about what you need to do next to swim with the current, can move in your natural direction, and go with your heart.

To get what you really want, you need to get clear on what that direction is.

Whether you have a tiny intention or a massive goal, tell me what you’re going to bring into your life.
