5 Things To Make A Better Life Now

A Relationship With Thank Youlife

With the current climate of our culture, we need to recognize when something is good, something is being done right. Now, more than ever, we need to say “thank you”.

If you see something good in the world, recognize it. There are a million examples big and small of how to do this.

Does your partner always takes out the trash, without a hitch? For the last 10, 20, 50 years? That’s his/her job you might say. It may well be established, but it’s still important to say “thank you”! Tell them that you notice it. That you realize you don’t have to do it because they do. It will go so far in your relationship.

Your co-worker always saves you a seat at the table. A kind person saves you a seat on the bus. Tell them you appreciate it.

Share Your Truths

I’ve always adored Maya Angelou. For so many reasons this woman will always be a treasure to the world. In the midst of human conflict, hurt, and reckoning, she continues to be a beacon of truth and light. If something is real for you and you’ve been afraid for hours or days, even years of sharing, the time is now for you to share it.

“We encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.”

Rely on your truths, and notice them first in others.

In the words of Maya,  “We are more alike than we are unalike”.

So, in uncertain times, when you think, “How can I make a difference”?

Take some kind of action my friend, take comfort in knowing you can do the simplest of things to make a difference in the life of someone else who needs it. Appreciate someone and explain why you are grateful.

Forgive yourself or someone else and speak it out. Whisper it if you have to, but share your truths because you can. If you muster the courage to shout them out, tell the Universe.

Take a small amount of courage and know that it will change the course of your life.  When you feel knocked down, get back up and keep going.

In the words of Maya,

“You are a rare and precious gift.”

Maya Angelou, you will forever be a gift.
